Profiles of Fiber-reinforced plastic Reinforced Plastic (FRP)
FRP Pultruded profiles can be used in a wide variety of applications, as they offer a unique combination of corrosion resistance, high structural strength and light weight.
FRP Pultruded profiles are manufactured using the pultrusion process, under high quality standards and are tested according to the applicable ASTM procedures. For its manufacture, the Fiber-reinforced plastic filaments are submerged in thermofix resin, then the fibers are preformed using a series of guides to then pass through a die with a controlled temperature that gives the profile the desired shape. The profile is pulled using a pair of hydraulic presses to later be cut to the desired length.
FRP Pultruded profiles constitute an excellent alternative to the use of conventional materials such as steel, aluminum and wood, due to their low maintenance costs.
